In bear paw boots are your toes supposed to touch the end of the shoe? will they strech out any?

I just got Bear Paw boots and a 4 was closet to what fitted. They didn't have a 5 for me to try on so I took them home and wore them inside the house and out. So I need to know if they are supposed to feel this way or do I need to return them to Famous Footwear and request a 5? If I can even return them. Help???
