Can a Specialist be demoted while filling an E-6 slot?

Here is my case. I'm a 25S stationed in Korea. My 1SG pulled me out of my SATCOM facility to fill the slot of our PAC NCOIC. We have 4 people in there working including myself but here is the problem. One is pending a chapter from the army, one is a KATUSA who tries to handle Awards and NCOERs but I still find myself covering that area too, and the 3 person is a 25P fresh from AIT that needs his hands held in everything he does. I bust my *** trying to please my 1SG/Commander but I am a one man army in that office and he doesn't see that. We do not have any 42A igned to our unit that should be in there. My 1SG is wanting to pull my rank because I am not meeting his standards. I have plans of putting in my warrant packet soon after achieving my E-5 and if this E-6 PAC NCOIC slot hinders me from this I am going to be severely upset. As a E4 in a E6 slot, do I really have anything to be worried about? I mean, I stepped up to the challenge but like i said, i'm a one man army in this 4 man office. its tough. I've given my all at this position with very little training before taking over. OH, and I have only been in the office for roughly 2.5 months. High Expectations huh?
